Hi all,

Sorry to have to ask this - have not found the information anywhere else. I have credit for Pre-Calc and the Chemistry before Chem I. Let me rephrase, as I am unsure if that makes sense: I have credit in Introductory Chem, Chem I, and Chem II, as well as Pre-Calc and Calc. Will my Pre-Calc and Intro Chem classes count for math and science GPA? Should I list them as such under AMCAS? Is there any negative perception on my end for taking these classes?

Thanks to all!

Cheers,

Yes and perhaps a bit. They are BCPM so as long as they are 100-level or higher then yes. (Chem 099 may not since it'd be a HS-level course but not entirely sure.) As for having taken them...well, it looks like you're behind on your math and science so not the best thing but as long as you do well in more advanced coursework it really shouldn't matter.

You're better off having taken the prep classes to get a good foundation for doing well in the prerequisites, than to have not taken them and gotten one or two letter grades lower in Calc And Chem because you had to struggle with the material. Everyone doesn't enter college with the same educational background, and med schools understand this.

Thanks for the replies,

They're all 100+ above. I earned good grades in all of them, so there isn't a problem regarding grades. I was just wondering if I should consider them as BCPM. Thanks again.

Anybody else have any ideas?

I just want to confirm what the two people already posted; thank-you very much for having done so.

Yes, they are both BCMP.
