Hello.

I took my Comlex II this week. The result will come back in probably 1 month. But the AOA rank submission deadline is January 28th for applicant and the programs. Lets say, if a Program rank me #1 on January 28th and I also rank them #1. Now on February 10th, my Step II result comes out and i fail.

Now on match day on February 14th, do I match with the program? or will I be withdrawn from the match since I didn't pass?

or If I still match, what happens then? since they will find out I did not pass. Will I have some time to retake and pass the exam before July? or they just can take me off from their match and chose somebody else? How does that work?

Thanks for your advice.

Assuming the program didn't require your COMLEX II score prior to ROL time, your score will have no bearing on the Match.

If you do fail (and way to think positively here), you will have to pass before you can start your residency. And if you can't re-take it and get a passing score before your residency start date, your program can void your contract and you'll be SOL. But as long as you pass before July 1 (or whatever date you have to report), you'll be fine.
