HI everybody

my score in step 1=205
step 2 = 215

do i have any chance to have fellowship ? in surgery ?

i'm not planning for residency,,,, only fellowship

well i know my score is really very low and i won't apply for matching ... so i think if i finish my residency in my country then take a training (fellowship ) in a sub specialty

is it able to be with this low score?

but what's the point of getting a fellowship if it's not a path to a license in the states. Doing a fellowship doesn't grant practice rights.

You might have a shot at a non-ACGME, low competitive specialty in an undesirable area, but you can forget about anything competitive. I'm not even sure if you can do a fellowship without doing an ACGME residency now; I recall that the ACGME closed that loophole a couple years ago.

I'd say consider the UK. Surgery plays well over here. Although, publications and research in the related specialty are a must nowadays if you want any hope in hell of being competitive, esp. if you're an IMG.
The bright side is that Royal College exams are pass/fail, and they're very straight forward for surgery/medicine. Things get a little more prickly once you get into the sub-specialities (but that's a given anyway.)
As for the States, it doesn't look good, I'm afraid that particular door might have closed for you unfortunately.

i just want training and then return to my country not to work in us

oh really ,, i can't apply for fellowship without residency in US

I wouldn't say it's impossible, but you would have to go outside the ACGME. There are a few independent fellowships out there; search for non-ACGME fellowships and see if something suits you.

What exactly do you hope to train in? That would make this question a lot easier to answer. It's one thing if you want to do a spine surgery fellowship and a whole 'nother ballgame if you want to do a clinical nutrition fellowship.
