Is it really looked down upon? I’m under the impression that there is nothing wrong with taking some prereqs over the summer as long as it is at your normal institution. In fact, summer courses are my university are harder because it is more condensed.

That is incorrect. Because they are condensed, they are viewed as needing to go quickly and therefore lightly over material. Summer classes are generally perceived by medical admissions as less rigorous than fall/spring classes no matter where they are taken. It is advisable to avoid them if possible

Hi, I know this question has been asked before but my situation is a little different. I know it’s frowned upon to take prereqs over the summer, but if I was taking a full course load, 16-18 credits with that class, would it still be looked down upon?

taking a full course load in the summer is not only extremely difficult with the short time, and risks impact to GPA, doing so may be perceived as trying avoid tougher regular term

Looks like I’ve really messed up then. I’ve taken both Gen Bio’s in one summer and then biochemistry another summer. How bad is this?

I took both physics classes and labs during summer session, did well, and it doesn't seem like it affected my cycle. Some people's majors don't always accommodate for the premed prereqs, so summer classes are necessary sometimes. As long as you do well in the regular semester, take a challenging courseload, and excel in the summer courses, you should be fine.
