No, those are two completely different procedures.

Dental veneers are custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials that are designed to cover the front surface of teeth. These veeners can be made from porcelain or resin materials.

The porcelain veeners will resist stains much better than resin and they will also mimic the light reflecting properties of natural teeth much better. Resin veeners, on the other hand, require less natural tooth structure to be removed prior to placement because they are thinner.

Composite resin bonding, in the way you are referencing it, is used to build up a small portion of tooth. For instance, if a young child had chipped off part of their central incisor, then the dentist could rebuild the missing portion using composite resin bonded to the remainder of the natural tooth.

Ok well I have a gap between my two front teeth and I want to know if resin bonding or resin veneers are cheaper.

Resin bonding/composite buildup is much cheaper but there are drawbacks. Foremost is the fact that the veneers will last much longer. You may have to replace the composite buildup as early as 10yrs. Doing the composite takes more experience in getting a perfect shade match than doing the veneers. The composite also has the potential to change color in reference to the tooth... sometimes the tooth will stain over the yrs and sometimes the composite will discolor. Also you should factor in the original size of your teeth. If your incisors are a normal to large size to begin with, adding on a bulk of composite will make them appear abnormally large. To a lesser extent this applies to veneers as well. In that case the ideal would by minor orthodontic tooth movement.

Generally, the resin bonding done by the dentist will be cheaper, but this depends on the dentist. Just remember that this can be a very tricky thing to do well. You may save some money but it will probably NOT look as good as veneers that were fabricated in a lab. Your dentist will be happy to give you several options if you explain what you want to accomplish.

ok well I wanted to know if these were safe to use...www.toothgap.com

Not even close to safe IMHO. There is a case I remember that someone used rubber bands for the same purpose, and the rubber band slipped up onto the roots of the teeth. Needless to say, in that situation, it cost a lot more to fix that problem than it should have.

well I dont have enough money for regular veneers and I need quick results so I think I just might try the bands and watch them carefully and make sure nothing happens.

Please, please, please, please, please, please, PLEASE talk with a dentist first. If you can't afford much, find a low-cost clinic in your area. Lots of us pre-dents have volunteered at these kinds of clinics, and if you live in or close to a major city there's gotta be something nearby. The results of trying anything on your own (meaning not under a dentist's care or advisement) really could get very, very disasterous very quickly.

Please PM me before you actually go ahead and do anything with your teeth by yourself, OK?

Amen.

Also, not only pre-dental students, but dental students like myself volunteer at dental clinics too. Although, most people that we treat are in acute pain, not many people come in for esthetic restorations.

Well I live in a small town where I know for a fact that there are no volunteers or pre-dental students.

How far are you away from a bigger town or a fairly sizable city? Could you get there somehow?

Commenting on that website certainly is NOT grounds for any of those things you mentioned.

The website is hilarious, to say the least.
