Has anyone ever gotten accepted to a medical school by answering yes to the questions have you ever been convicted? or were you ever on any academic probation, disciplinary action, etc.?

btw I am not talking about the non-trad adult student who has another career and answered yes to the above questions because they happened 4+ years ago.

Yes- I have a friend who was convicted on a drug charge and got in (he learned the error of his ways and turned things around after that).

Good luck!

I have a friend who stole a porche (the keys were in the trunk) and then crashed it during college. He got into med school and is now a psych resident in new york. I know he spent a good deal of his personal statement addressing this issue and how he learned from his mistake. So yes it can happen, but it definitely hurt him a lot when he was interviewing.

Academic Probation- Check
Previous Matriculation- Check

Now, I did complete a 2-year post-bac program in the mean time and then spent 2 years working as I applied, so maybe this doesn't fit the time span you're looking for, but hey... I got in.
