I have been thinking about enetering the field of pharmacy. I attend UNLV. Are there any books that I could read that could give me more insight into the field. I have been browsing the forum but thought maybe you guys could help. Or are there any classes that I should take that would help me decide. I come from a family of physicians and they basically are pushing me towards med school, but I have no interest in that.My student adviser was no help at all. I also called University of Southern Nevada and they basically said "just look at our website."

Thanks
Tiffany

I would say talk to current students and see what its like. Also, think about volunteering or shadowing a pharmacist. No better way to see if you like the profession than by actually seeing it first hand.

I tried to volunteer but they have no openings for pharmacy. Are there any books that go into detail about pharmacy or are there any courese that would help. also any current students insight would be greatly appreciated. I did try to apply part time as a pharm tech for experience but they said I needed a certification.

There is a little book called "Opportunities in Pharmacy Careers" By Fred. B Gable, it will give you an idea of the career opportunites for pharamcists and help to see if pharmacy is really for you...it's good

I am not sure about any books, I am sure there are some out there. I am in pharmacy school now so I can try to answer any questions you have.
