I am not seeking medical advice or starting any flames but can any OBGYN with all their knowledge and experience tell me Mg sulfate to a less extent and terbutaline - the med given to women in preterm labor does it crossthe placenta and is it a neurotoxin?
Can terbutaline CAUSE speech impairments of any sort in developing children?
Please, any opinion will be appreciated. I am not seeking medical dx just oinions from those who know.
Thank you.

Magnesium Sulfate and Terbutaline do cross the placenta.

Magnesium in studies by Crowther as well as (to be publiched soon) the MFMU has been shown to have neuroprotective effects.

Terbutaline poses the same presumptive risks to the fetus/neonate as those posed to the mother, but is an FDA class B drug.
