hey, hope everyones midterms are going well at the moment. I just had a question i was hoping someone here could answer. i am an american who is going to school in canada. i will be graduating in june 2010 and plan on applying for the 2011 cycle. after graduation i will be missing a physics course and half an orgo and half a physical chem course. i was planning on completing them during my gap year either as distance ed (athabasca university) or at my local university as continuing education. i was just wondering if that would be a problem, and how the grades i receive in these extra courses would be considered. thanks a lot!

In general, from my reading of these forums, it seems distance learning is not embraced (actually, actively discouraged) by most med schools. This is more true for the prerequisites, and almost always true (some Texas schools are an exception) for those with an associated lab component. I'd encourage you to take the mentioned courses at a brick and mortar institution, unless you call your target schools and get their blessing.
