Hi everyone,
Quick question. In your third and fourth year of osteopathic med school, what is the structure like. I know students rotate but then how are they graded? With marks or pass/fail? On what basis, ability to conduct procedures or theoretical knowledge on the field?

Thanks for any Insight

Short answer: it depends.

Long answer: Depends on your institutions grading policies, your attendings, your evaluations, whether you have written exams in addition to your daily pimping, whether you have to pass your exams or not, whether you go to an institution with jerks that pimp you until you cry or whether you have attendings that genuinely want to teach and not make you feel like an idiot. Depends on the grading criteria.

I don't know of any school offhand that grades you based on ability to perform procedures - you're generally learning procedures on rotations.
