I was wondering if anybody who has previously taken the DAT could clarify what sort of question format should be expected on the DAT. Over the past few weeks, I have been reading several breakdowns that say a lot of contradicting things as far as comparisons of the DAT. Some people say that the questions are easier than Achiever, some say they are similar. Others say that the DAT is more like TopScore and some even say that Destroyer is on par. I personally think that each Achiever, Topscore, and Destroyer all ask their questions very differently and that their questions are not on the same level of difficulty. So, I decided to look at the sample test the ADA puts on their website. From what I saw, the questions that they asked were very simple and straightforward compared to the questions in any of Achiever, Topscore and Destroyer. Also, I was wondering about the level of difficulty comparing the ADA free sample test to the real DAT. I've read older threads on sdn saying that it was easier but not that much easier and then other people saying that it is significantly easier but a good representation of what you would actually score on the real test. If a few people who have already taken the DAT could clarify some of this it would be great.

achiever is FAR more difficult than the DAT...i got at one point like a 16 on bio on the achiever, but a 20 on the actual exam...TOPSCORE is deff your best bet with that. TOPSCORE, kaplan, and crack the PAT for the PA section are necessary. The PAT on kaplan is too easy.

I found Topscore, Destroyer, and Achiever to all be quite different from the real thing. I wouldn't compare any practice test to the DAT. The available DAT practice tests should just be used for practice and timing, not to predict scores (unless your scoring horrendously low). Every section of my science scores increased at least 5+ points from practice exams. I never was able to break 19 on any TS or achiever GC test and wound up with a 29 GC on the real thing.
