Questions about class retakes and DO schools

Hey, I had a few basic questions about class retakes for classes I've done poorly in with regards to applying to DO schools. Your input will be highly appreciated 🙂

1.) Do the schools take the higher grade of the retake class, or do they average it?
2.) Do I mention only the higher grade of the retake class in my application, or do I list ALL my grades for the class.
3.) After my new grade, do the DO schools recalculate my GPA (if my new grade replaces my old one), or do they only consider the GPA on my transcript?

1) they only take the higher; no average
2) submit all your transcripts
3) you will have a new, theoretically higher GPA

1.) The most recent grade. everything before the most recent one is completely ignored and not averaged.
2.) You list every class for every semester and then there is a drop down menu where you put "retake." it is explained very well in the application instructions.
3.) They don't calculate everything until you are completely done If you are adding classes later, not sure, but they will probably take it as it comes. you transcript gpa means absolutely nothing to the med schools. they only look at and use the aacomas gpa.

Neither. They take the last retake grade, as noted on your AACOMAS (see below).

You list every single class and every single grade, as outlined AACOMAS Instruction Book. See "Entering Colleges/Coursework."

3.) After my new grade, do the DO schools recalculate my GPA (if my new grade replaces my old one), or do they only consider the GPA on my transcript?

After adding the colleges and courses, and designating your retake classes, AACOMAS will compute their own nsGPA, sGPA and cGPA and will send those to schools.

I might be wrong here, but this is what I think:

AMCAS averages your attempts

AACOMAS takes the most recent attempt. I'm pretty sure you are supposed to put everything down that's on your transcript and they will take care of everything else. Just make sure you mark them correctly as repeats and such.
