Currently in the process of accepting loans and whatnot (and figuring out why I can't sign the damn MPN)..do I have to accept all the offered loan amounts or can I accept some and then if need be, take more in later? (Specifically the Direct PLUS loans. I requested the maximum amount on the request form but I don't really think that I'll need all of it. Yet if something happens, it'd be nice to know that it's there. However, that being said, would I have to pay interest on it if I requested the maximum amount and then I don't accept all of it? Sounds silly wording it out now but any insight would assuage my illogical concern...)

Gonna have to call the FA office anyway for the MPN issue, but just wondering if I could get an answer now about this.

They don't disperse the entire amount up front and you can make adjustments before the next dispersement and lower the amount. That's what I'm doing. Moving me to a new state my wife doesn't have a job so I'm maxing the first dispersement so we have backup cash until she has a job then I'll drop the amount.
