Hi, I would like some advice on writing my essay.

I was really ill in college with a combination of lyme disease and mono, and had really bad grades for the last 3 years of college. my overall gpa is a 3.11, but in the last 3 years it's below a 3.

i'm recovered now, and have worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 2 years and gained some experience.

my question is, in terms of my essay and explaining my academics, should i put the specific illness i had, or just mention that i was ill? i don't want readers to think i might not be able to handle pharmacy school. if i mention i had lyme disease (which can be chronic for some people) will that effect me negatively?

also, would anyone like to help me proofread my essay??? i'm looking for input. thanks!

Leah

Definitely. Don't make it too much of a crutch, but you should definitely mention it. UB even has a section on their supplemental app for you to write in a paragraph if you feel you had a situation that affected your academic career in a negative way.
