Do a search, there are a large number of threads already on this. DO=MDHello everyone, I had a few questions about osteopaths, and their difference from md's. First off are osteopaths able to specialize in the same fields as md's can. For example could a DO do a residency for oncology, or anesthesiology, and become a oncologist, etc? Next does a DO have trouble getting into residencies if they can specialize? Do DOs get paid substantially less then a MD? Also why is it easier to get into DO then MD school? Is the only difference between these degrees that DOs receive training in manipulation of the muscles while md does not? Sorry for all of the questions, but I am just trying to figure out what is different about these professions.

Yeah... definitley do some research on your own before you ask this. You're about to get flamed by a ton of people.
Your questions will be answered far more quickly if you do an individual search on google and using the search function in these forums.

They're totally right, from now on just search the forum or even Google. (It took me a while to figure this out as well!)
And for the love of God please don't say call us "osteopaths", I prefer DO, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or Dr. Love 😉
I really wanted to be the first one to flame on you, but I'm gonna be the bigger man and wait for someone else to
Good luck with the search!
BTW, 100th post!!

I'd hope you prefer "Osteopathic Medical Student" or "Bachelor of Science candidate" as you aren't starting until the fall. 👍
