I am a co-author on a case study (that was presented during a paid medical assistant job I had) that was accepted in a medical journal and will be published in July. How exactly do I enter that into AMCAS?

I can't add it under Publications because if I enter July 2009, it doesn't accept that. Should I put it in the description for the medical assistant job? Also, since its not published yet, I cannot cite it. Does that mean I can just say that the study will be published and just say what it is about?

Thanks in advance !🙂

Just put the month it was accepted. Cite it as in press and put the official publication date as well in the description.

add it under publications. for the date (the date that is like the third box on the form), put the date it was accepted.

You can always cite an unpublished paper if it has been accepted. Put the citation in the description box. If it has been published on the web already (some journals do this well in advance of the print copy), use the year it appeared on the web as the year in the citation. If it hasn't appeared on the web yet, then, instead of the year, write "in press." This is standard for accepted papers that have not yet appeared in print form or on the web.

Do not put it under your medical assistant description. It will stand out much more if it is separate. It goes in the publications section.

Got it. It hasn't been published online yet. But I will put 'in press' for the year. Thank you so much guys !!
