Questions about Rec letters

Hi,
My friend is an undergrad senior applying to Pharm schools this year. She asked a few ppl to write her rec. One of her letters is by a pharmacist she worked w/ this past year at a school pharmacy. However, that pharmacist will leave in a few days to take a new job at Pfizer. Now, my friend is hesitant of using this pharmacist's letter b/c the pharmacist said a letter from an industry pharmacist, instead of one working at school/commerical pharmacy, might look bad. I know this rumor is kinda far-fetched, but do any of u know this is true at all? please help me out here... THANKS SOOOOO MUCH!!!

I have never heard of that. A pharmacist is a pharmacist. The content of the rec would matter most

The work relationship and the strength of the recommendation is what matters. The fact that the pharmacist is working in industry or retail at the moment isn't relevant.

i agree with the previous posts. it's the content that matters. the school wants to know who you are from someone's perspective. as long as it's a good letter, u're fine.
