UB is a good program, but I dont believe Cornell and Le Moyne have pharmacy schools.

UB is very competitive it one of the top pharm programs in the comtry and trhey only except 100 students a year. cornell and le moyne do not have pharm programs. st john's in NYC and albany are the other two programs in NY state.

Pharmacy Historical Trivia: Columbia University had a college of pharmacy until 1976.

Does anybody know anything about Howard's pharmacy program? I really want to go to move out to DC. But I haven't heard that much about Howard! Someone please help

Howard is a historically black univeristy that is very expensive (it's a private school, as most DC universities are). I know undergrad is close to 30 grand a year. It is not in the best area of DC at all (not near the white house and all those pretty and safe places). And DC isn't a cheap place to live in either. Sad thing is, there are no other pharmacy programs in the area. As for the program, I really don't know. I would also like to learn more about it's pharmacy program but their site isn't helpful.

Thanks for the response. Yeah I have heard that Howard is in a pretty rough 'hood. That is horrible too since i heard that Howard is supposed to be a really good school. And you are right Howard's pharmacy website is not helpful at all. It doesn't really tell you too much about their program at all. That scares me a little bit. Oh and I had e-mailed one of their admissions advisors and she told me that tuition for their pharmacy school was ~$7000 per semester (not including books, etc.). So just about $14000 a year. But I don't know since they don't have it posted on the website.

Are you from DC? How do you like it there?

The neighborhood at Howard University isn't that rough !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I go there almost everyday!!!!

I've been to the neighborhood only once, during the day, so I can't really speak as to how safe it is. Alkyne should be able to explain it better. I did my undergrad at a DC school and have worked in dc for a few years and I love it (except for the sales tax). It's really busy during the week (especially during lunch time). There used to not be a lot of stores to shop in but that is quickly changing. The downtown area is nice. I don't live in DC though so maybe I enjoy it because I'm able to get away from it and go across the river to quiet VA during the evenings/weekends. DC is expensive to live in but metro is very convenient. Howard has a metro station near campus so that should be helpful if you choose to go there. Most people who work or go to school in DC do not live there. I'd also like to know more about howard's programs. Anyone have any info?
