Hi all,

Where can I purchase DAT Achievar from?

What is the best way to use the two materials? Do I just do the full length tests and review the solutions or do I review the notes on the software if there are any? I guess what I'm asking is how can I get the most out of Topscore and DAT Achievar.

Thanks

None of them gives you study materials. They are only sample tests to reveal your weaknesses so you know what to work harder on. Level of difficulty in generality:

DAT Achiever > Topscore > DAT

Exceptions and side-notes:

1) RCT from both programs appears to be easier but DAT Achiever contains a stock passage very similar to the real thing.

2) PAT from Topscore is too easy compared to the real thing. You should primarily count on DAT Achiever on this section.

3) Topscore does not have complete solutions like DAT Achiever. I think they only have explanations to the SNS and QRT.

4) A handful of challenging/tricky questions from Achiever's Bio and Maths have been reported to be repeated/appearing in some of the real DAT exams.

5) Also, the owner of DAT Achiever has really been quick in reply & helpful when I contacted him for some questions from the tests I still had doubts with. He will even patiently walk you through on the phone when need be, which is amazing.

You may get DAT Achiever from:

Hey,

my dat achiever couldn't rotate the 3d images. the guy from the company couldn't get it to work yet on my xp computer. my kaplan 3d worked ok. i may try and get my money back.

my topscore pro does have a nice study guide. it came on my cd and is from a dean of a dental school in admissions. I like the study guide. it outlines all the topics and is a tutorial for the pat. all the questions have very detail solutions except my pat part. i've been using the topscore guide for that. i think you get the guide as a special deal that's what their website said and still says today www.topscorepro.com. so it's definitely more to utalize than just sample tests. make sure you see all of it.

lol !

Thanks to both of you for your detailed responses.

 Sorry if this informative thread has somehow been tainted by the SDN disruptors here. What I told you might sound a bit biased but they are truthful things experienced by me as a re-taker. And as a former programmer, I simply felt disgusted with the naïve lie inflicted by luckypeach. The sample test and the 3D rotation are two separate things with the latter running supposedly & more robustly than the former since it’s being governed by one viewer program alone. If it’s improperly installed, it’ll automatically be fixed the moment you open it up just like your shockwave/macromedia plug-in player via Active-X control. You should try out the DEMO after downloading/installing DAT Achiever to your computer. The 3D features are indeed awesome allowing you to unshade, zoom in/out, pan, self-animate, snap-shot, … but those are not fancy stuffs to spoil/spoon-feed you. Use them to greatly complement/confirm/enhance your perceptual strategies in whatever way that’s possible. Don't take my words for it. Check out other sensible post/thread by others, while the following links are herewith appended FYI:

Good luck to you then. :luck:

this dude is a DAT achiever guy, and he probably has lot of names that he uses, but the bottom line is this guy comes through and helps everyone out who have problems with the software or the explanation, which is more than what i can say for acethedat, and topscore, and u guys will agree with me on that. As far as whether he uses the forum to publicize his product or not, we all know more practice the better, and the program has some good practice for PAT. And as students, who gives a damn who he is as long as he answers our questions. Rock on.

You're a jerk. I didn't lie, and I spent lots of time trying to get the 3D to work. Who are you to say I didn't. And my topscore did come with a nice guide, a PDF it is written by the dean of CT dental school. You are the one with the facts wrong.
