I am looking to start volunteering at a hospital just for the summer and breaks whenever I am back home from school. The reason for this is that the hospitals in the area of my college have little opportunity for actual patient interaction. My questions are:

1. How would ADCOMS view volunteering just for the summer and breaks? Does this still count for what they are looking for in terms of consistency?
2. How would I categorize the volunteering in the extra-curricular section of the application if its broken up by summer, winter break, spring break, etc.?

Thanks in advance.

1) For how many years would you do this before you apply?

2) You'd still tag it as Volunteer-Medical/Clinical, but
A) If for 2-3 years involvement, you'd pick a title suggesting intermittency, like "Hospital Transporter over College Breaks" or "Pediatric Child Life Assistant, NonAcademic Year." Then in the narrative, you'd explain further.
B) For 1 year of involvement, you'd have another option of using the Repeated function to break down the time frames into datespans in the header (you can designate up to four) with their associated Total Hours.

I would be doing it for 3 summer, winter, and spring breaks before I apply.
