Hi I hope you're doing well.
To give you some context I'm a non-trad student from Canada who was recently admitted into UQ. I was rejected from Canadian schools this cycle and am planning to reapply to US and Canadian schools this upcoming cycle. However I don't have a strong preference for where I want to practice so I'm seriously considering studying in Australia.
I'm curious to hear from North Americans who are currently studying or are practicing in Australia.
- What has been your experience in Australia so far?
- Has your international student status hindered your opportunities in a significant way?
- How does your work-life balance compare with your NA colleagues?
- Would you recommend studying medicine in Australia to your past self?
- How much did the training cost you financially?
- Did you get any scholarships or financial assistance from the school you attended?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
