In the next few weeks I will be hitting the interview trail. I am trying to come up with a list of questions that need to be asked. Here is what I have put together so far. Anyone have any input?

Demographics of the group
Solo vs Supervised
Typical schedule for full time/ new hire
Call Schedule
Business Model
Short term and long term business plan
Future palns for growth
Starting Salary
Partner salary
Reimbursement and reimbursement schedule
Locations of services provided
Partnership Track
Buy in for partnership
Hearts yes or no?
Predominant case type
Benefits
Malpractice
Pension/Retirement package
Composition of the group
Vacation Time
Distribution of costs
Subsidy from hospital
Payor Mix
OR Support (techs and if extra hands are needed)
Average hours worked per week

Nice list. Two things that come to mind are if there is a non-compete clause with other groups in the area in case you decide to leave. And on that note, if you do want to leave, how much notice do you give, and how much notice does the group give you if they want you out? Have people left the group? If so, why, and can I talk to them? Groups may try to hide this info from you.

You have types of cases on the list, but inquire further: is there a NICU/PICU/Burn unit in the hospital? Who takes care of the ICU/Pain issues/Codes? Is there someone on call with you, like a backup guy, in case you run into problems? How about OB? High risk, goes along with NICU presence. How many CRNA's are you supervising at a time?

My advice is that if you interview with the group and you are interested, take a second look. It's hard to get all the questions answered in one sitting. Seek out someone you think is approachable and use them for follow-up phone calls, emails, etc. as well. But your list is very good.
