Questions for Temple pod students

I am starting at TUSPM this fall and I will be living in the dorm. I have a few questions for current students about the upcoming year.

1) What is/was your computer status? laptop? none? (basically what do you recommend after going through it)

2) What books did you need/are you planning to buy?

3) Any ideas as to when they will post the 2009-2010 academic calendar?

4) How much are scrubs and can you bring your own?

Really looking forward to getting back to school!

1) I have a laptop and it did the job. Any computer will do since they do have a computer lab on campus and you don't need to bring one to class or anything.

2) This really depends on how you like to learn. The professors provide all the material you need in ppt/pdf format, but if you need a secondary source for reinforcement then you may want to buy the book. The only books I bought were the anatomy text and a netter atlas. The anatomy atlas is a necessity whereas I think I have only opened the anatomy text once.

3) I don't really remember when it was posted online but I think that they send you one in the mail with some orientation material. You will probably get it sometime in July.

4) You will be gettting a packet that contains forms for certain items that you can purchase from the other classes at Temple. You can bring your own scrubs or buy them through the class of 2012. I think they were $10 for tops and $10 for pants last year.

1. I brought a laptop. Some students find it useful to be able to watch class capture or something in the library.

2. You need to get an atlas. I did use my anatomy text (Clinically Orientated Anatomy) a lot. Wait to get the texts until you get here. You may be able to get something cheap from an upperclassman.

3. You'll get a general calendar in the mail in your orientation packet, but you won't get a class schedule until you get here.

4. What feets said. You should be getting the orientation packet very soon.
