What are necessary questions to ask the premed advisor when I go in to visit with him/her? (Beyond the obligatory superficial questions like where should I apply)

I'm really looking for some thoughtful questions that will help me tap into this resource and extract all that I can.

Can anyone out there help? It will certainly be appreciated.

He/she will probably tell you what you need to know without prompting but you should ask what procedures your school uses for sending materials to medical schools, and what sort of timeline you need to follow.

Your school might maintain a list of the grades/MCAT scores of past applicants from your schools and where they ended up.

Ask what fellowships/scholarships/financial aid resources are available to you and when you should begin filing the paperwork.

If you are a URM ask if there's anyone you can talk to for further advice on applying...

Craig,

Can you be a little more vague please?
I didn't quite catch that cuz you went into so much detail.

What do you want to know about?
Schools?
Grades?
MCAT's?
Grad work?
Other possibilities besides medicine?
Books?
Interviews?
AMCAS?
Thank you notes?
Evolution?
Berkeley Review?
Kaplan?
Magazine Discounts online?
Weight lifting equipment?

It seems like you think you can only go to your advisor once...i know at my school you can go whenever you please. If you made an appointment, you obviously have some questions to ask her...right?
Most advisors know many many things...they share them all with their students...
