what are some good questions you should ask during interviews?

my mind is blank, help me think of some original/cool stuff.

just ask about the area, schools' strengths, questions about dual degree programs you may be interested in, whatever YOU actually want to know about.

those are all excellent questions.

some of them seem to beat around the bush. for instance, insteand of asking how hot the interviewer's daughter is, i will proceed to inquire about her possible tendencies to hook up while drunk. also, if "condoms" are more fun that doing it raw.

on a less graphical note however, any real questions?

btw, i also enjoyed the beavis and butthead reference. i am a big fan.

Think about things that are important to you. This will help make you look unique (questions like: what are the schools strenght just make people want to yawn).

Do some research on the school and ask particular questions....

Ask about the make up of the student body.

Ask about the city.... interesting places outside the medical school that the interviewer thinks makes the school a great place to go (remember, if the interviewer can talk about themselves, they seem to think the interview went great!)

i feel like if you don't have any genuine questions, don't ask any - it's perfectly fine to just say, no, sorry i don't have any questions at the moment.

interviewers know the generic questions already, and probably have already been asked them 1000 times. they can also see through people who try to make up "unique" questions. i get the sense that some interviewers would rather you say no, than waste their time asking them questions that you're not truly interested in or may already have the answer to.

at most of my interviews there have been people that i've talked to beforehand to answer all of them, and so they give you a pretty comprehensive view about the schools.

bottom line is, don't feel forced to ask questions and only ask them if you have some of genuine interest in what the answer might be...that's just my .02

One of my interviewers told me that he knows all interviewees are told to prepare stock questions, and he'd rather have me ask only legit questions that I have rather than trying to ask questions for the sake of asking and looking interested. So I told him that the tour had answered every question I had before coming and he seemed pleased.

So the lesson is, don't ask a question unless you're really interested and don't know the answer (or can't find it online).

My best one is, "Do you offer a medical Spanish class, because... (this area's Spanish-speaking population is increasing/I want to reach out to that community/>?" It makes you look super conscientious. I always check to make sure that they actually DO offer a medical Spanish class before, though... cause it sure would be awkward if the interviewer was just like, "No."
