Hey everybody,
i've just recently decided that i'm going to apply to some optometry schools, and if anyone can answer some of these questions i'd really appreciate it.
1)I saw that Berkley and NEWENCO require 2 semesters of calculus on a certain opt. website. Is this true?? or is it 2 semesters of math including calculus in one of those?
2)Does the oat test the second semester of organic chemistry?
I'm wondering if i should take elementary biochem instead of the org chem II. Would this be a wise decision since so many schools require biochem or recommend it?
3)Would the kaplan MCAT book be a good one to review the oat with? Thats what i have right now and it seems pretty thorough.
4)I'm not going to ask any of you what the "best" school is or anything like that. But, I've been looking at some of the catalogues that the schools sent me and the curriculums all look pretty similar with the exception of the order of the classes and clinics throughout the 4 years. (I.e. some schools start you right of in clinics in the first year, and others wait for the second year.) Anyway, could any of you tell some other general differences that vary between schools?
5)If anyone goes to UHCO, SCCO, or UCBSO, could tell me about them (the program, people, the cities, whatever you want, I'm curious, because i won't be able to see them before i apply.)
I know this is a lot, but i'd appreciate it if any of these could get answered, thanks
