Should the letter be directed towards Medical school, because I know some writers will say "I am writing on behalf of so-and-so in regards to entry of medical school" etc while some don't mention that, but the letter is really good and covers every aspect of that individual, if not does it matter? - Because letters are just to describe and emphasize your work ethics, personality, and all that right?

I think that it is probably important that your letter writer is clear in that they are recommending you for medical school.

umm.. It should obviously we written "to" medical school admissions for admission into medical school. Are you trying to recycle a old letter or something?

Crap.

What if it's just a general non-medical recommendation?

Are you still in contact with the person or has your contact been recent enough that you can ask them to modify it, even just slightly?

Yes, it seems i'll have to do that.

It is going to be all over the map. Some will recommend you for whatever graduate or professional school you apply to (hedging their bets); basically, they are saying you'll do well at whatever you choose to do.

We are really more interseted in what the letter says about your work ethic, ability to learn new material, teamwork, ability to bounce back from frustrations, etc.
