what's the correct symbolic expression for 'more than two standard deviations from the norm'? Would it be:

>(u + 2o)

except pretend the u is Mu and the o is Sigma. No, don't worry, I'm not trying to cheat on stats homework...I actually took stats 3 years ago, which is why I'm not even sure about like, the simplest of all possible expressions. thanks.

I believe that you are correct > (μ + 2σ).

I believe, unless you are presenting a table, that you should present the data as a narrative reporting the mean and standard deviation. The explain that the data in question was more than 2 standard deviations from the norm. I double checked the APA style guide and that was the best I could come up with.
