I got a secondary from DUKE, does anyone know where on their website it says if I can go ahead and send in my LORs or if I have to wait for an Interview Invitation? I can't find it? Thanks in advance.

According to the secondary application, they only want you to send your LORs after (if) they invite you to interview.

It says:

Letters of recommendation should be sent to Duke AFTER you have received an invitation to interview (UNLESS YOU ARE APPLYING TO THE MEDICAL SCIENTIST TRAINING PROGRAM - MD/PhD- See MSTP (MD/PhD Program) applicants information below). This applies to applicants who are planning to submit paper recommendations. Recommendation letters are not reviewed or required by the screening committee but will should be on file at the time you interview. Four letters are required, two of which should be submitted by science faculty. After you receive an invitation to interview, paper recommendations should be sent to: The Committee on Admissions, DUMC 3710, Durham, NC 27710. It is always a good practice to contact the admissions office to determine if your letters either before your interview or after.

Does this mean that you're only supposed to wait if you're sending paper LORs? My pre-med office uses VirtualEvals...

I called the admissions office and they said that if you're using an electronic recommendation system then you can have them uploaded, but you should be aware that they will not actually download them until you are invited for an interview. Also your status will still say "recommendations not recieved" until you are invited for an interview.

That status bar didn't change the whole cycle last year. Everyone had to call to check to see if their letters were in.
