So I was doing a problem and wanted to know if anyone had any nice shortcuts to solve:

1.24 / 0.75 = ?

The answer is 1.65, but how can I do this math precisely, and under 8 seconds?

What I'm thinking is the answer is between 1.5 (0.5 x .75 = ~0.37) and 2 (which is 1.50)...

any faster estimation techniques to solve fractions like these?

1.24 = 1.25 = 5/4

.75 = 3/4

5/4 / 3/4 = 5/3 = 1.67

1.50/0.75 = 2
0.75/0.75 = 1

0.75+0.375= 1.125/0.75 = 1.5

so many easy ways.
