Phenol reacting with HCl, would Cl replace the alcohol? Destroyer is saying yes, qVault is saying no. Of course im siding with destroyer but i jus wanna make sure.

Yes I think so since phenol would be protonated into ph-OH2+ which is a good LG and then the Cl- attacks the positive charge, the charge would be resonance stabilized too.

Where in Destroyer does it say a phenol will react with HCl?

to turn a phenol into a chlorine wouldnt you have to go phenol + strong acid => benzene + HNO3=> nitrobenzene + Sn* HCl => Amino benzene + NaNH2 HCl => Diazonium benzene + CuCl=> chloro benzene
