What software is the most useful for an internal medicine intern?


what software should I buy, is the ?

I would go with Epocrates for sure. The Rx program is free to download from their website, but if you want the Epocrates Essentials, you'll have to pay for it. Something like 5 Minute Clinical Consult is also pretty useful.

Im not a big fan of Epocrates. For one, it doesn't give Mechanism of Action for pharm. If your OK with that, go ahead.

Ummm... MY Epocrates DOES give mechanism of action-- it's under "Other information" on the menu.

Also, 5 minute clinical consult is incorporated into the Epocrates Essentials.

An Epocrates will give you the approximate cost for most meds. This may be important if you have self pay pts.

I used the Johns Hopkins antibiotics guide for the Palm a lot during intern year. Its free after registration and has the same info in Sanford (per my ID attending during my ID rotation). I personally preferred it to sanford (hate the small b&w writing).

Yeah.... they had one awhile ago but took it down for whatever reason. It's why im still a palm advocate 😀 I think its equalizing nowadays though.
