Quick Question about AAMC GPA convertion

Hi,
I have been trying to convert my GPA to the way AAMC wants it. I may be confused, but I looks like there is not difference between your school's gpa and their format. I mean they keep the -/+ if you have it. And, if you don't, they don't care. It seems like I would waste my time converting if it only gets me the same thing. Ok, here is my question for someone who has done this, Does the GPA even change?

You are correct in that there really shouldnt be much of a difference. The thing you can calculate tho is your sceince GPA and your non-science GPA. It is unlikely that your school does that for you. So if you are curious, you can look at the course classifications for AMCAS and then figure out what your science GPA will be. Also if you have courses from multiple schools, they are going to count teh grades for all of those courses. So for example, if your overall GPA is 3.7 at your regular institution, but you took a summer course somwhere else and you got a B (which will be a 3.0), then the GPA that AMCAS gives you will be lower than 3.7 because it is incorporating that grade from the other school. Hopefully that made sense.

They werent spelling errors, they were typing errors. Just as i'm sure you dont think that "in" is the proper word to use in your sentence...you made a typing error. In my post, there werent that many and i dont care enough to go back and fix them. It was still readable.

Ehh, who cares about typos on sdn anyway. I know we are pre-meds and suppose to sound smart, but not when we talk to each other. haahah... typos all the way. lazy is inevitable...
