I'm preparing for med school next year and I was wondering which books do you guys think are good for med school and are also cheap. I know many medical schools recommend using "their" books, however I believe that all the books really give the same info. So which books do you guys think would be good to purchase.

First, most med schools teach from professor generated note-sets/syllibi. Meaning your primary "text" won't be a text and you won't be buying it. There are a number of secondary resources that every med student will buy (eg. Netter's), some of which you can get free when you join AMSA or one of the other med student organizations. When you get to med school, you will find that upperclassmen frequently are willing to part with their used books at a significantly discounted rate. So in short, best to wait until you get there.
