Im trying to devise a strategy on how to approach the quantitative reasoning section. When you are taking the exam, are you allowed to flip through questions for the particular section that you are working on? Or do you have to submit your "final answer" to move on to the next question?

Also does anybody have any tips on how to improve timing for the quantative reasoning section? I was doing a practice exam and out of 40 questions i only finished about 25 b4 i ran out of time (i got about 21 right).

You can flip through the entire section without having to complete every question, before moving on to the next. However, I don't recommend this strategy. Considering the time constraint and the enormous amount of pressure you want to keep everything in order and as organized as possible, rather than constantly moving back and forth and jumping from question 10 to question 25. You'll most likely end up missing some questions if you use this method.

Don't spend more than 1 minute on any question (this is specially true in case of word problems. If the problem is comprised of a freaking essay, which takes only 2 minutes to read, before you even get to the part where you can set up equations and stuff, you don't want to waste time on that. Choose an answer and move on). Try to answer the questions you know first, but don't leave the ones you don't know blank. Choose a random answer and move on. At the end, if you have any time, come back and answer the marked ones.
