quick question about listing pubs in AMCAS

On the AMCAS website, it's listed that I cannot include publications that will be published after July. Does this mean I can't list a pub that will be sent out in August but is currently being written? And for MSTP applicants, would it be all right if I simply listed the future pubs in my secondaries? (I also need to free up a few of the 15 slots for ECs, but I assume papers are more important..)

On the AMCAS, just list those that are already in print or accepted, which means NO to the paper that hasn't even been submitted yet. Don't worry, in your secondaries, you will have AMPLE room to mention anything remotely related to your research, which includes publications (current and potential), presentations, abstracts, etc. When you get closer to your interview dates, the status of your paper(s) might have changed (i.e., 'accepted', 'published', etc.), allowing you to send in an update letter to their MSTP office for your file.

If the website says no, then don't do it. However, you can certainly 'mention' anything you like in those 15 slots. You won't be able to give a reference, but something like "in addition to the above, I have two peer-reviewed papers concerning migratory patterns of the giant owl accepted for publication in the fall . . ." If you are not first author (or second), you probably have better things to list anyways.

You will get a secondary most (all) the places you send the AMCAS to. Don't sweat it.
