If you're getting routine labs such as CBC/CMP in an office setting, are you meant to discharge the patient and then schedule the patient to come back once the results have come back?

You can have them wait in the office until you get the results back. Usually if they don't want to wait or its getting late it'll say "patient is leaving soon" and then you can reschedule.
