I took a statistics class given by the ECON department since I'm an econ minor.

However, there is also Intro to Stats class given by the math department and I'm deciding whether I should take one given by math department or not.

Does this count toward math class for science GPA?

Thanks!!

Check to see if the course is cross-listed. Chances are they might and then you can reasonably mark it as a math instead of econ class on the AMCAS. Best bet is to ask your academic advisor to be sure.

Usually when it comes to variations like econ stat, this generally means that the course focuses on using econ-based problems for stats learning. Since you are taking a econ minor, you might want to consider taking econ stats if it is specifically a requirement. Otherwise, I would just stick with regular math stats to simplify things later on. But again, the best person who can answer this is your academic advisor since each university might have it setup differently.
