I'm an EM resident doing a case report on a patient who became apneic after undergoing either a retroorbital or a retrobulbar block with bupivacaine/lidocaine. What I'm having a hard time figuring out is whether there is a difference, and if so, what it is. Any help you can lend would be appreciated.

both are the same block into the retroorbital space.

Read this. There are videos that show the difference between retrobulbar blocks and peribulbar blocks.
