Quick Question: Is Schwannoma = neurofibroma?

I think my Oxford Medical dictionary is incorrect in saying under 'Schwannoma' to see 'neurofibroma'. From what I have read, they are not interchangeable. Is it a misprint? I'm pretty sure that it should be 'neurilemmoma' and 'Schwannoma' listed as the interchangeable terms.

Schwannoma is schwann cells only, neurofibroma is schwann + friends like endoneurial fibroblasts. Found an older non-peer reviewed article here http://www.ihcworld.com/_newsletter/2004/2004-10_NF_vs_schwannoma_v1.pdf going into some of the immunohistochemical techniques to differentiate with a little discussion about challenges in some samples of differentiating the two- hope that helps!

Vestibular schwannoma = Acoustic neuroma, that might be where the typo came from
