the elctron config for the transition metals such as Mo, Cr, Mn, Ag, etc etc all have "exceptions" ..
Now my question is;
For the electron configuration of Mn+ i thought it would have been 4s2 3d 4 but the answer showed 4s1 3d 5 .... But why would that happen if there are only certain exceptions? Does this account for ALL electron configurations that can be "half" full or full?
Someone please help clear my mind.
