Hey guyz,

I just have a question whether I will be competitive for med school next year. I will be applying next year and I was hoping if I could get some feedback.

my gpa is:

1st year: 3.35
2nd year: 2.68 (I know it's bad! - horrible year)
3rd year (so far - fall quarter): 3.97

Thanks!

What's your cummulative GPA? I'm too lazy to do the math.
😀

Will you be applying during senior year, or the year after senior year?

assuming u take the same number of hours every year.... and ur half complete THIS YEAR.

as of RIGHT NOW- this minute... ur lookin at ROUGHLY 3.2ish

if u assume that u will again, get a 3.97 gpa... u'll be up to 3.33

its little on the LOWER END, so try to do well on MCATS and go from there...

Really need to know your overrall and BCPM to tell.

If you can manage to keep that 3.9 going, you might be better off applying after your senior year. Two years of consistently excellent grades should not only bring up your GPA numerically, but show that your second year was not a reflection of your true abilities.

At the schools I applied to my BCPM GPA was looked at more closely than my overall GPA. Also had a similar dip in 2nd year. It ended up not being a problem since my 3rd and 4th year GPA's were solid. Anyway, it's hard to say how competitive you'll be without an MCAT score.
