Hello everyone, I'm a first time poster, however, I've been lurking around this forum for the past year. I'm currently in my second year at college and I am trying to compile some data for one of my class. Some quick questions for those who had already taken the PCAT.

Are you Male/Female?
How much did you spend on study materials? (rough estimate is fine)
How long did you study before taking the PCAT? (months, weeks, days, approximation is fine)
Your composite first time taking the PCAT
How old were you, when you first took the PCAT? (Optional)

Thank you in advance for your time.

Are you Male/Female? Male
How much did you spend on study materials? (rough estimate is fine) $40 (Kaplan Book which wasn't much help on science sections, IMO)
How long did you study before taking the PCAT? (months, weeks, days, approximation is fine) - 2 weeks
Your composite first time taking the PCAT - 73
How old were you, when you first took the PCAT? (Optional) - 23

Thank you in advance for your time.

WISH YOU WELL!!

1. Male
2. $1400. Kaplan summer PCAT prep course. It wasn't bad... the materials they gave helped a lot.
3. Two months, average of probably 5 hours a day. The trick is to make yourself a schedule and take a break every other week or so.
4. The first time I got a 58 composite. But I took it too soon. I just finished the pre-pharmacy curriculum for the schools I am applying to and did considerably better
5. I was 19

Sidenote: This was the Jan 2008 test which is much easier compared the latest Aug one.

Are you Male/Female? --- dude
How much did you spend on study materials? --- 500

I used:
- Dr. Collins -- most useful

- Barron's -- semi-useful
- Kaplan's -- useless
- PCAT Professor -- completely useless
