I have both the 70/60/70 and the longer version AAMC R versions. Should I take the current format, review the questions the next day, and then just take the remaining passages [the ones from the longer one that were absent from the current format] as practice, or practice endurance doing the longer passages as my practice test?

it's ur call

if u wanna get used to the computer CBT format, then take CBT

otherwise, i dont' see any negative side in taking R versions

I have the old ones too, and I found it really helpful to just do the long ones. I did AAMC 10 (first short one) the other day and it seemed so easy! I really felt like I had a ton of time to finish all of the questions, and I was able to pay attention through the end. Like training for a race...

Take your scores with a grain of salt though - with the longer ones, a particularly bad passage gets absorbed better than in a short test.

What some people have done is build endurance by taking the longer FLs for the first few FLs. Then, follow that up with the CBTs once you get closer to your test date to adjust to the new format.

If you want an even split, you could do this:

AAMC 3-7 long (if you have AAMC 6, go AAMC 3-6)
AAMC 8-11 CBT (if you have AAMC 6, go AAMC 7-11)

It doesn't really matter since there's more leeway in the longer exams (eg missing 5 is still a 13 in the long version vs 3-4 for the shorter version). It comes down to stamina and time.

Going for the shorter test is more indicative of what you'll face game day but the longer test tests more content.
