Quick question to NYCOM acceptees

I was wondering when you applied and when you were notified of your acceptance. I am interested in attending NYCOM and was curious to see when is a good time to apply to ensure notification of the result that is as soon as possible. Thanks!

As early in the application cycle as possible. The later it gets, the more applicants they have and the more backed up the ad com gets since they are continually interviewing. I interviewed in March and am still waiting to hear an outcome....but that's nothing....I've heard of people who have waited 3+ months post-interview for a decision. Just apply EARLY!!!!

Sent in AACOMAs in July, took MCAT in August, received secondary on December 23 (?) via snail mail, scheduled interview on 1/4 or 1/11 (I'm sorry, I forget) via phone, received acceptance 1/23 via snail mail.

My advice: Submit your primary as soon as possible. Then send in your transcripts from undergrad immediately. Then call to ensure that your transcripts have arrived. They'll wait until you MCAT score comes in before they schedule you for an interview (if you take the Aug MCATs). However, in my experience, the interviewer didn't have my mcat scores in front of him, so he/she will ask you about them.

interviewed early Jan
accepted early March

NYCOM had their first interviews around december. They like to start interviews after their open house which was Nov 19th in 2005.
