quick question???

quick question, if you have taken the mcat before, do they average your old and current score together or do they look at them separately.

thanks

Different schools do it differently, but most will look at the last test as the most determinative. A couple of schools will take your highest score in each section but that is a minority view. I am aware of no schools that average. Bear in mind that all schools see all the tests, so if eg you got a 25 and then a 30, your 30 is not going to be as strong as a person's who only took it once and scored a 30.

I don't know whether there are some schools that average or not, but how important old scores are also often depends on how long has passed in between takes. OP, just FYI, the old scores never, ever go away, but they do matter less and less as time goes on, at least in my experience. I had eight years in between takes and my second MCAT was nine points higher. No schools where I applied averaged them or considered my old scores. :luck: to you. 🙂

thanks guys.... i been about 3yrs since my last mcat so... i'll see how it goes, i was just curious that's all
