Hey everyone,

I have a quick question for you all...
I took the MCAT 5/21 and got a 24O (7V/8PS/9BS, I hate verbal) and I registered to take it again on 8/4...

I am applying to pod school for this upcoming cycle on Aug. 2nd and was wondering if a 24 is enough to get some sort of partial scholarship, or should I retake and try to get a higher score?

Basically, I'm debating between cancelling my new MCAT date and applying 8/2, or retaking and waiting til 9/4 with the the new score hopefully being high enough for scholarship money...FWIW, I have a 3.1sciGPA/3.15cGPA, alot of EC's and a good amount of prior healthcare experience...thanks

Forgot to add, I wanted to apply to Barry, NYCPM, and Temple...

Cancel you're test (assuming you can get your money back) and start filling out your app in August.

A) There is no guarantee you will do better on the second test. In fact there is just as good of a chance that you do worse.

B) You will get into and get money from all 3 of the programs listed (you'd get into and get money from all 9 programs actually).

C) See A and B

Totally agree w/ dtrack. Your stats are definitely good enough to get interviews, and as long as you aren't a creep and don't have any red flags, there is a great chance that you will get in somewhere.

You're straight, just apply and don't waste money on another MCAT. IF you need a higher score they will tell you and probably conditionally accept you based on a future score.

I totally agree 100%. Only retest if you are applyingn to some DO schools. In fact, you can prob get into some DO school with your stats. No need at all to retest.
