I'm going to be applying to medical schools this summer for fall 2012. I've already finished undergrad, and am looking for things to do between now and starting med school (if I get in, that is).

I've looked a few MPH programs, and most are two years. Could I start an MPH program, attend med school, and then finish the degree after med school? I'm not sure I'd want the extra workload during medical school.

It sounds like you want an MD/MPH program. I would look into those because I don't know if MPH programs would allow you to do that.

I am not sure about starting the MPH and then finishing up four years after? As Epi suggested, you can do MD/MPH programs. Or you can do the MPH after the MD in separate programs or apply solely to one-yr MPH programs.
