quick stanford question

so decided not to apply to stanford after all...i've gotten e-mails (a couple actually) from them saying that i should complete my sec asap, etc. and that if decided to not continue my application, i should let them know in writing. does anyone know if it's ok if i e-mail them to let them know that i am no longer applying? or do i have to do it via snail mail? thanks for the feedback...

I think they would prefer snail mail because i heard most schools want you to withdraw through postal.
