Hey guys, quick question about volunteering. This upcoming semester I have a free day so I want to volunteer. Last semester I volunteered 1 day a week consistently at a certain hospital. This semester I have that same opportunity. My question is, from your experience do med schools want to see you volunteer at different places or be consistent and volunteer at the same spot for a longer period of time? Thanks

If you're talking about doing the same exact thing at a different hospital they probably don't care. All things being equal, it may be slightly more impressive to have all your hours with one organization. Switching will have a bigger impact if you do something totally different -- for example, have you done any service to the underserved?

One year at the same facility is viewed as a decent amount of time. Since you've got just one semester there so far, I suggest staying at the same hospital, but switching things up to another department, to broaden your experience and make it more interesting for you.
